An Unforgettable Adventure….The St John’s Southbound and Northbound River Cruises – March 15th-19th and 22nd-27th, 2020

Cruise captains Guy Marvin and Gerald Dake tell us they have room on the St. Johns River Cruises! The Cruise going southbound on the river begins with launching in Palatka on Saturday March 14th or Sunday March 15th and the cruise going northbound begins with launching in Palatka on Sunday afternoon March 22nd. There is room for both boats and riders. So even if you don’t have a boat, come on and take a ride on the beautiful St. Johns River! Questions? FESTIVALS OF SPEED – Saturday March 21st

Sunnyland is proud to host the FESTIVALS OF SPEED in conjunction with our show this year. Joe Sabatini, who runs this very successful program throughout Florida, will be bringing a beautiful display of up to 60 antique and classic cars to our show. The Sunnyland members have participated in other FESTIVALS OF SPEED shows around Florida and it has been a very positive experience to recruit new members to our chapter.

The Sunnyland Chapter Will Provide A Free Symposium – Saturday March 21st

These free set of boat-related sessions are presented during the Sunnyland Boat Show and are provided free of charge to anyone interested in boating. Everyone is welcome to drop in without registering.  The symposium will take place during the show on Saturday from 9:00AM to 3:30PM.

The Morning Session Topics  –  Located at the Tavares City Hall

9:00 AM – Casey Lynn and Dan Anderson will educate us on pressure gas tanks used throughout the 1950’s vs. fuel pump tanks that followed beginning in 1958.  Learn how to convert OMC engines from dual line (pressure) to single line (fuel pump). Safety concerns for pressure tanks and how to rebuild them.

10:00 AM – Bill Hancock will educate us on the differences between a compression test and leak down test.  Learn the proper way to perform both a compression test and a leak down test along with what compression reading you should see.

11:15 AM – Bill and Scott Turner of AristoCraft Boats will take us through the history of their company that Bill’s father Claude starting in 1946. You won’t want to miss this presentation on an iconic family boat manufacturing company.

The Afternoon Session TopicsLocated at the SCAMPY Tent

1:00 PM – Steve Wood will present a program on how to get a vintage outboard engine running after sitting for many years. This will be a live demonstration.

2:00 PM – Jacob Bascom will take us on a journey through his boating projects at the SCAMPY shop.

2:30 PM – Barry West will present “Analyzing A Restoration Project” Repair, Restore, or dismantle for parts.

Ladies Style Show and Lunch at the Tavares Civic Center – Saturday March 21st

“The Sunnyland Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society” will host a Ladies Style Show at the Tavares Civic Center, 100 East Caroline Street on Saturday March 21st starting at 12PM. Tickets are required and they can be purchased with your show registration. You Must Register For This Event
