Dear Sunnyland Members
Unfortunately, with the COVID pandemic still lurking and in some areas taking a step in the wrong direction, it was with great reluctance that we had to change the format for our annual meeting in November. This year, we will not be having our normal cocktail party and banquet. We will have our fourth quarter Board meeting at Mission Inn for Board members only and provide a Zoom link for all interested members to attend virtually. The meeting will start at 9:00 am, Saturday, November 7th, and directions to attend via zoom will be sent out soon.
Bill Root Memorial Cruise
The plan is to meet at 11am on Friday November 6th at Hickory Point. We will launch our boats and have a short gathering and some memorable words. Then we will tour Lake Harris and stop for a short memorial service. Then we will proceed to the Mission Inn Marina and tie up the boats. Lunch will be served at the Marina or we will go to the Mission Inn Dining room. This will be determined by the number of attendees. We will partake in a beautiful lunch and we will share stories about Bill and his family. After the Luncheon, everyone is on their own for Friday evening.
I have set aside 10 rooms at the Mission Inn if anyone wants to stay there Friday night. Call the Mission Inn Direct to make reservations 352-324-3904 mention Sunnyland Chapter
Annual Board Meeting
Saturday November 7th The Sunnyland Chapter Board Meeting will convene at the Mission Inn in the Paloma Room next to the La Hacienda Restaurant and will start at 9:00am. Chairs will be placed for Social Distancing and a Continental Breakfast will be available.
We will need a Boat Count for Friday and we will need a head count for lunch. Please RSVP to Terry at 407-493-6487 via text or email tfiest@att.net if you are planning to use your boat or have lunch—-The Lunch number is critical because it determines where we have lunch. I need the count NO LATER THAN November 2nd.
Bill Root meant a lot to this Chapter and hopefully you will be able join us for this Memorial
