The Sunnyland Team enjoyed a great day at Joe Sabatini’s FESTIVALS OF SPEED wonderful event at the Orlando Ritz Carlton on Sunday, December 15th. The weather was great and the event setting is “Over The Top” filled with incredible cars, boats and other luxury brands of toys for big boys. There were about 12,000 people at this show!
We were placed on the entrance grounds close to the front door and enjoyed a great spot for people to view our boats. Participants and award winners included Terry Fiest with Glacier Girl, “Queen of the Lake”, Don Johnson with his 1959 Centruy Coronado, Art Hampton with his 1958 Chris Craft Capri “Best Boat of the Show” and Riley Warddrip with his 1962 Chris Craft Holiday which was awarded the “Most Original Boat”.
This is a world class venue and we all had a great time walking the grounds as there was plenty to see and enjoy. Joe’s shows are a great way to enjoy our boats and let others see them too. It also helps foster new interest in our hobby. Edgar Anders, the shows announcer, gave Terry Fiest plenty of time over the public address system to talk about the upcoming Sunnyland Boat Festival and to invite the public to our event, along with entering their amazing cars in the Festivals of Speed show that Joe will be doing again this year.
If you have not been to one of these shows, you need to put it on your list of fun things to do. Besides, someone out there will enjoy seeing YOUR BOAT and perhaps join our group?
Joe’s next great events are: on the waterfront at St. Petersburg on January 12, Miami on January 19th and at the Amelia Island Concours Event Weekend March 7th. These are “Bucket List” type events and you should really attend one. For more information on the Festivals Of Speed please CLICK HERE
