Riverfest 2019
Naval Air Station Jacksonville
September 21st
The 2019 Riverfest at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville is fast approaching so it is high time to get organized. Many of you will recall that this is a splendid opportunity for us to show our appreciation to the Sailors and Marines and their families for their service to our country. We do that by attending this picnic to display our classic and antique boats and to give rides. This is an easy one day event that starts at 10 AM and ends at 3 PM on Saturday, September 21st. You have time to drive there before the event and time to drive home afterwards. The ramp and docks are excellent. You will be provided fuel to replace that which you burn giving rides and you will be provided an excellent picnic lunch. The Navy provides releases for passengers to sign as well as life preservers for each passenger. We will bring a couple of our SCAMPY boats for display and demonstration and we will receive a nice monetary donation to SCAMPY.
Please let Guy Marvin know you will be attending so he can make arrangements to get passes for you and your crew to get on the base (unless, of course you are active duty or retired and already have a military ID). This will require each person’s full name including middle name, date of birth and driver’s license number. It is that easy, but we do need to get started well ahead of the event so make plans now and contact Guy Marvin by email at gmarviniii@gmail.com or telephone at (904) 334-3885 to let him know you will attend. These young men and women protect our country and help us sleep at night! So let’s have a good turnout to show them how much we appreciate their service! Thanks much! See you September 21st!
