On October 14th – 16th, the Lake Mirror Classic Concours & Car Show returned after a two year hiatus. They were able to bring back this fabulous event to Lake Mirror in downtown Lakeland for a three day celebration of the art and history of automobiles. The show surrounded beautiful Lake Mirror and throughout the streets of historic downtown Lakeland. There were over 500 show cars with world class displays and all the grandeur of the Concours d’Elegance. The spectacular display of vintage wooden boats from the Sunnyland Chapter of ACBS aligned the grass bank along with water displays. Sunnyland members Gerald Dake, Bill Hancock, Bruce Kester, Jack Bingham, Craig Hartwig and Don Taylor brought their mahogany beauties to the show.
The Friday evening “Hot Rod Rendezvous” was the best examples of true hot rods plus live music in a family friendly and fun environment. The new director, Robert D’Angelo, took over the show like he had been running it for years. We understand that Ford Heacock was very helpful in that transition.
