A Visit To The Florida Flywheelers

My wife and I went off the beaten path today and had an interesting trip back in time. With most places we visit in Florida, there is usually water somewhere close by, but today the only water we saw was made from steam. We spent our day at the Florida Flywheelers Antique Engine Club. They were holding their 34th Annual Antique Tractor and Engine “Swap Meet”. You best pull out your best pair of walking shoes because this meet is located on a 40 acre spread.
I have to say, when I broached the idea during breakfast of going to a tractor and engine meet for the day, my wife was not overly excited. As it turns out, this event has something for everyone. The Florida Flywheelers have a very nice venue setup as a historical village with a church, fire station, gas station and many other buildings that house tractors and engines on display. During the day, they have many different events, including a tractor parade, a sawmill demonstration and a model T teardown and put together demonstration.
If you have an interest in antique engines and tractors take a day and visit the Florida Flywheelers.
