The show opened up on Friday morning with Trudi and her registration volunteers working like a well-oiled machine. As boats rolled in and made their way to their assigned dock space, other planned activities for the day were well underway.
At 10 o’clock all the boat captains and their crews met on the docks for a beautiful cruise led by Gerald Dake in “Odessey” through the Dora Canel and on to Hickory Point Park for our annual picnic. Jack Bingham with his volunteers had a wonderful barbeque feast setup for us in the pavilion under the great ole oak trees.
After lunch we made our way back to Wooten Park for a wonderful ride back through the Dora canal where we saw a few alligator’s basking in the sun. Once back to the show site, it was a fun filled day meeting up with old friends and making a few new ones.
At our Sunnyland Boat Festival there is literally something for everyone.
