Sunnyland Chapter Symposium
Thursday November 14th
The Sunnyland Chapter, one of the largest Chapters in the Antique and Classic Boating Society will conduct a series of monthly Symposiums designed around the restoration and preservation of boats. Each symposium will focus on construction and the fundamentals of working with wood and will eventually include working with Fiberglass.
The Kick-Off symposium will start on November 14, 2019. Something Special is planned for the first event and will feature a Pre-War Aqua-Plane construction. The plan is to use an original Aqua Plane as a template and re-create it with modern technology. Barry West our host, has built an elaborate re-saw capability and we will actually cut all the lumber and show you step by step the process.
Lou Ronca and Terry Fiest, both Past Presidents of the Sunnyland Chapter will be there to assist Barry and lay out a path for the future. For planning purposes, the Symposiums will be held on Saturday Mornings and the next one is scheduled for Dec 14, 2019. Because of the Florida Vintage Race Boat event on November 16 and 17, we had to change the date to November 14, 2019. We will be inside and outside.
Be sure to mark your calendars and plan to join us for a great fun event.
