Sunnyland Toys for Tots 2019
The holiday season is fast approaching, which means the Toys for Tots donation season is here. Last year donations from Sunnyland Chapter members totaled over $3,200 worth of toys and cash. I can assure you that the generosity of Sunnyland’s members was recognized and much appreciated by Toys for Tots and the Marine Corps Reserve.
Now it’s time for our Sunnyland members to get into the spirit of the new holiday season and help make Sunnyland proud again at the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots weigh-in and boat parade. Get your toys and cash donations in by Friday December 6th. This year we have again combined our efforts across Florida, making it even easier for you to donate.
Here’s How
Drop off a toy or check (made out to Toys for Tots) at any of the following locations:
(1) Old Time Boat Company (Gary, Ingrid and Doug Scherb), 28206 CR 561 in Tavares (across from the former driver’s license office)
(2) Bill Feikert’s shop in Mt. Dora (The Temple of Restoration). You know where that is.
OR
(3) Send your check made out to Toys for Tots directly to Sunnyland Chapter Secretary Bill Root, 16 Lakeshore Dr., Yalaha, FL 34797
Checks will be converted to toy weight for purposes of determining the top three winning organizations.
I know we all get inundated with requests from charities, and it can be hard to decide which ones to support. There is no more noble cause during the Christmas holiday than The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. So as you take the opportunity of this Thanksgiving season to reflect on the many blessings those of us in this hobby have had the good fortune to enjoy, please consider the joy your donation can bring to the face of a child who otherwise might have nothing to open on Christmas day. You’ll feel great when you do.
